FINANCIAL
REPORT:
OLD
BUSINESS:
- ASA
Shoot: Dismal turnout due to the torrential rain. 53 shooters
Sat 22
shooters Sun.Sunday
shoot called due to rain and lightening. But some finished
afterward. Club
still made $600 or so. Controversary
whether or not shooters deserve refunds. Texas ASA posting a policy
that if
shooter completes 15 targets – no refund. If 15 or less, can get
half back. Club keeps the
rest. Abilene
ASA had poor turnout due to weather as well, only 40 shooters. Randy
still posting scores on the shoot, complicated new youth classes due
to S3DA
- Roof:
needs to be
repaired or replaced – leaking badly. Options:
- Recover with tin
- Replace with 2 awnings $795.each x 2 which includes install
- Motion
made: Research it, tabled for now. Need to keep in mind keeping
around $2500 left in bank
balance for start of new year.
- Suggested getting the boy scouts possibly to do the work as project.
NEW
BUSINESS:
- Deerman
– need to mow. Targets set by Jerry. Make up fliers. This will
be large turnout as
is the state Deerman shoot.
- Paypal:
Josh has almost done. Need to test. Address email for deposit is membership@collincounty
bowhunters.org GoDaddy does not have icloud. There is a $10.00
bank fee for paypal expense. Josh pointed out that Dropbox can store
1 GB, so no worries
about storage. Randy to make paypal link for the website.
- Facebook:
Steve mentioned how some SPCA protesters were posting. They have
now been blocked.
- Tournament
set up: Randy made
the comment that we need to solicit the membership to help with
tournament set ups. The task falls to the same group of officers.
Need the strength and muscle
of some of the newer younger members.
- S3DA:
- Still getting new
memberships off the facebook page. Now up to 14. Varied turnout to meetings.
Some question about moving up meeting time to 4:30 PM.
- Tournament
for S3DA in Emory
for May 21st.
- Discussing with the regional 4-H group a tournament date. They
have agreed
to host. Motion made by Jeanette to host tournament. Steve
seconded. Motion passed. Jeanette
will contact regional 4-H coordinator to secure date. September
suggested as time frame.
- Jeanette
mentioned that the Texas ASA is recommending that the only school
teams have to be from
the same school district and UIL Level. Jeanette feels this is not
fair, as many groups, such as
the Collin County S3DA have a mixed bag of students from all schools
and a large number of non-UIL
home school students. Steve agreed this is problem. Will draft
letter to national S3DA.
- Tracy
Smith supplying all kids who participated in Collin County ASA S3DA
tournament award pins
for completion under such dreadful conditions (rain).
- Thanks to Josh
for use of his bow shop for this meeting due to darkness and cold weather.
